Kayla & Sal's Baby Shower

When I found out I was expecting one of the many many thoughts that crossed my mind was my Baby Shower. Considering the fact I never planned on being a mama and this was the surprise of a lifetime it wasn't something I had clearly imagined before (unlike pretty much every other thing in my life). I wanted it to be modern because that's my personal style and of course gorgeous. But, when I found out it was a Baby Girl the obvious answer was that it would be pink. I know what you are thinking, that's not very modern of you Kayla. Well we can be modern in other ways because I'm a pink girl through and through I knew it had to be pink on pink on pink.
The question I got the most when planning the shower was probably "What's your theme?"; For awhile that wasn't an easy question to answer. I knew I wanted it to be a luxurious modern pink explosion. I called it 'Luxe Baby' for a little while. As we developed the design it became more of a shower themed shower. We wanted to incorporate umbrellas throughout the design. My right hand woman AKA my amazing mother hosted this beautiful celebration. Most of the details we developed together but she was still able to throw in a few surprises and really give me the shower of my dreams.
We completely transformed our very classic venue with lush flowers and balloons. We set the table with pink velvet linen to amp up the luxe factor and added rose gold chargers and flatware and of course ghost chairs for that modern touch. Simply Roses slayed our design concept with a lush floral drenched umbrella. From pink peonies, to orchids, to lilies, to ranunculus it was the stuff floral dreams are made of. Our friends at Green Turtle Catering put together a special all pink menu for us. Not only was it gorgeous but delicious as well! We had everything from mini pink tacos to watermelon radish salads. You will love all the details that Winship Photography captured flawlessly.
I couldn't be more pleased with how it all came together and I can't thank all my incredible vendors enough for making it happen. Like any good event it wouldn't have been possible without their attention to detail and patience with my crazy pregnant brain!

This umbrella install was the main inspo for the shower. How else do you have a shower themed shower?
The little clear baby booties with pink ribbons in front of the cake were actually on the cake at my mom's baby shower when she had me, so of course we had to incorporate them into the setup. Cakery Creation knocked it out of the park with our dark chocolate covered strawberries and pink drip cake complete with actual pink cake inside.

This peony covered cake table is very near and dear to my heart. This was part of my vision from the start; I custom made this piece especially for the shower and it turned out exactly how I envisioned it.
